The Hilton San Francisco provides a soothingly warm outside rooftop pool with a notably large open area for guest seating. You have plenty to time to enjoy the pool too, with long opening hours between 5am – 9pm!

It also has the added bonus of a whirlpool and surrounding planted palm trees, the perfect setting to unwind after a long day of exploring the city!

The Hilton, providing comfortable and spacious room, is also conveniently located just a short walking distance from Union Square and the Powell Street cable car line.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hilton! Plenty of staff to help direct you everyone very welcoming! The pool was heated which was a huge plus!

What we really like about the rooftop pool at the Holiday Inn San Francisco is that, unlike many others, the pool is set away in its own private and designated space.

The good-sized, heated pool is almost set within the cityscape next to neighbouring buildings, so has great city views.

The location is extremely good. Polk street with nice restaurants is just a block from the hotel. The pool and fitness room with nice view. Great staff , helpful with good advise on the visits

In terms of the design, the pool at RIU Plaza Fisherman’s Wharf is one of our favourites, and is the perfect choice to relax, swim and play in the warmer months.

The reason it didn’t make our ‘Editor’s Pick’ cut was because some visitors notably said while it is heated, it is not quite heated enough to remain a comfortable temperature during the colder Winter months.

It is also located in our of the best locations in San Francisco, in Fisherman’s Wharf near the piers. Two of our best San Francisco hotels with a view are located in Fisherman’s Wharf too!

Beautiful hotel with wonderful heated outdoor pool. Rooms were a perfect size for a family of four. Excellent location, you would walk to pretty much everywhere. Possibly hands down, the best hotel breakfast you could ever have.

Our third and final hotel located in our favourite destination, the family-friendly Fisherman’s Wharf, is the Hotel Caza!

Modern with a slight cool and quirky vibe, this hotel has a slightly smaller pool area surrounded by sun loungers with umbrellas for hotel guests to enjoy at leisure. The pool is also heated.

the pool was warm and we had so much fun swimming. the room was super cozy. they apologized for putting me on the bottom floor but I loved it. it was close to the lobby, close to the elevator to the garage, I was able to park right by the elevator, and I had a sliding glass door that led outside. it was spectacular.

You caught us! Technically the Hotel Del Sol heated pool is not on a rooftop, however this quirky and unique outdoor pool area certainly caught our eye and it had to make the list!

Set in time with bold colours, jazzy patterns and retro accessories – the outdoor pool at Hotel Del Sol is super fun. It feels very comfortable, relaxed and family-friendly.

Hotel Del Sol is also in a brilliant location set in the Marina District just off Lombard Street, walking distance from the Palace of Fine Arts, Golden Gate Bridge.

Good included breakfast. Comfortable beds. Great to have a heated outdoor pool in the city. Easy to access public transport to get around the city.
